R. H. Quaytman (b. 1961, Boston, MA) was educated at Bard College. Her paintings, which are made on plywood panels, are organized into 'Chapters' and explore the nature and rippling effects of history through abstraction, taking as their starting-point the death of her great-grandfather and grandfather on their way back from the World's Fair in 1939. Quaytman lives and works in New York.
